World rubber consumption
World total rubber demand is expected to rise at a rate of 4.1% and 4.4% over 2014 and 2015 respectively, growing to 28.0 million tonnes in 2014 and to 29.2 million tonnes in 2015 (source).
Rubber waste forecast
In this industry, the average waste rate is around 13.5 % (source: SNCP) meaning that the yearly global amount of production waste is 3.8 million tonnes.

Rubber applications
More than 50 per cent of rubber produced is used in the manufacture of tyres, which remains the single largest application of rubber.
The remaining 50 per cent is used for technical rubber products.
